Ornaments on English Table Clocks received a very favorable independent review by Guy Boney which was published in the September 2026 issue of Antiquarian Horology. Mr Boney writes:
"Ornaments joins its two fellow as a further major contribution to the learning of English horology and merits a prominent place on the shelves of every collector, dealer, auction house cataloguer and, particularly, restorer... A scholarly work which passes one important test for any book on a specialised subject: that whether it is read by an informed collector or by a more general reader with a broad interest in history, it makes for a very enjoyable read, and one cannot ask of any book much more than that."

About this website:
This website is a digital library of clocks pictured in each of the texts.
The website also contains a large number of images not seen any of the books.
You do not need to buy the books to use the website; the website is a free library of images.
Please respect that neither you nor I own these images.
The digital library contains images of over 2,000 English table clocks.
Each clock on the website has a unique Identification Number (example: H3-2).
The first letter of the clockmaker’s surname is coupled to an arbitrary number assigned to that maker.
For example, H3 refers to Jacob Hassenius.
Each clock by an individual maker is assigned an arbitrary number.
For example, H3-2 refers to the second clock by Jacob Hassenius in the digital library.
The front view and backplate are shown for most clocks.
For clocks included in Beneath the Dial, the library also shows the frontplate image.
You can search for clocks by maker's name, partial name, identification number, image source, etc.
To search or browse individual clocks, click on Clock Images from the menu.
